My Pet Bruno

My second son Sriraam was keen to buy a dog since his childhood.  He has been constantly demanding for a pet.  My wife and myself were resisting strongly since both of us were working.  We have been struggling even to look after the kids and having a pet is a nightmare.   He managed to convince usmin June 2006.  Soon  after that he started looking for a puppy through different channels like magazines, newspapers and from his known circle of friends.  He identified a Veterinary Doctor who was having different varieties of dogs.  Sriraam and my wife went  and chose a cute 40 days old labrador puppy  on 15th June 2006.  He was named "Bruno"

Thereafter all the problems started.  My wife found it difficult to manage one more visitor to the house.  Bruno has to be given shower once a week and she has to prepare food for him also.  This has added more work for her and she started complaining bitterly.  This was going on for a couple of months.  Bruno started biting the wooden items like sofa, chairs and stools adding chaos to the house.

Some more months went off with similar issues.  We started realizing the unconditional love of Bruno and every one us started enjoying his company more particularly by Sriraam and by my wife.  We were having a wonderful time.

Sriraam went to US for further studies and I was working in Malawi.  My wife decided to wind up and shift to Malawi.  We engaged the services of a  professional company for relocating Bruno from Chennai to Malawi and on 30th Jan 2012 he landed safely at Malawi.

We decided to settle down at India and moved out of Malawi in Jan 2014.  In June 2014 Bruno was diagnosed to be suffering from Cancer.  We gave the best treatment possible and despite all our best efforts he succumbed to cancer and died on 6th Oct 2014.

We miss him very badly.  Some of friends and relatives suggested to go for another dog.  We do not want to miss the memories of Bruno and hence decided to turn down their suggestion.
